Taste of the Eastside
The 7th annual Taste of the Eastside (TOTE) is scheduled for Sunday, April 30th at the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens; it was announced today through the festival’s spokesperson.
General admission tickets are $45 pre-sale (online) and $55 day of event onsite and are good for unlimited food servings from 4-7 p.m. Wine, beer and spirits will be available for purchase for GAs.
VIP entries cost $75 pre-sale and $85 day of event; it includes unlimited food tastes from 3-7 p.m. and three drink tickets 3-8 p.m. But it also offers VIP demos, early entry to event at 3 p.m., exclusive VIP gift bag, front row demo seating, and priority parking (2:45-4 p.m.).
All proceeds from Taste of the Eastside will be donated to local organizations, including Rose Scharlin Cooperative Nursery School, The Pablove Foundation, and Friends of the LA River.
An approximate 30 vendors (returnees and newcomers) from diverse cuisines within the Eastside (Silver Lake, Echo Park, Eagle Rock, Highland Park, Los Feliz, Atwater and beyond) will be present to offer their delicious foods and drinks.
Diablo Taco, Little Dom’s and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams are among those returning. Some of the newbies are Go Get Em Tiger Coffee, Silverlake’s new Chinese Kitchen Fat Dragon, WOOD pizzeria, New American favorite Red Herring, FrankieLucy Bakeshop and McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams.
Taste of the Eastside would not be complete without flights from the region’s finest, boutique wine merchants, Silver Lake Wines. Aside delightful wine pours will be signature cocktails from Mohawk Bend and Greenbar Craft Distillery. El Segundo Brewing, Highland Park Brewery and State Brewing will be providing refreshing beer on draft among other cool local breweries.
Aside from foods and drinks, KCRW DJ favorites Anthony Valadez, Travis Holcombe and Garth Trinidad will be playing tunes. Best Western and Playground will provide live music.
