If you’re an Angeleno planning to head to Joshua Tree this spring, you need to visit Pappy & Harriet’s, one of the coolest places in all of Southern California. There’s no better excuse to check the place out than a festival, and luckily for you, Desert Generator is back for a second incarnation on Saturday, April 8.

Produced by Rolling Heavy Magazine, Allnight Allnight and Brant Bjork, one of the founding members of the most influential band to hail from the area, Kyuss, Desert Generator marries custom-van culture with music for a celebration that hearkens back to the famous “generator parties” Kyuss was known for and 1970s van campouts. Festivities begin with the Rolling Heavy Van Show at noon at the Pioneertown Corrals Campground and continue on at Pappy & Harriet’s in the evening with performances by Earthless, Brant Bjork, Orchid, the Shrine and Black Rainbows.

if you’re arriving in town a day early, the “Stoned & Dusted” party featuring Yawning Man, Low Desert Punk Band, Throw Rag’s Sean Wheeler and Fu Manchu is happening Friday night at a secret desert location.
